FACIAL TREATMENTS
LACTIC ACID + C or GLYCOLIC ACID + C PEEL
A revolutionary antioxidant and skin rejuvenation treatment that prevents premature skin ageing and protects the cells from environmental damage. It helps to stimulate new skin cells, even out pigmentation and promote a clearer, smoother, healthier looking complexion. These peels work by loosening the glue like substance that binds skin cells together and only works on the epidermal layer of the skin. It is not a deep peel, but it will stimulate elastin fibres and promote new collagen growth in the dermis. As we age and accumulate skin damage, our cells take longer to renew themselves. It takes on average 28 days for the turnover of cells in a young person but this increases to 35 days or more as we get older which results in our skin surface becoming clogged with dead, roughened cells that need to be removed.
Lactic acid is derived from yoghurt, buttermilk or sour cream and is milder than glycolic acid. Great for first time peel users or for those with sensitive skin. Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane and is the smallest in molecule size of all alpha hydroxy acids. This means it penetrates the skin more easily which results in quicker results.
Also contains 10% arbutin, a natural skin lightening agent which works by blocking tyronsinase activity in the skin thereby reducing the formation of melanin. Detailed and extensive research has shown that arbutin sends a signal to the melanin producing melanocytes telling there is sufficient melanin already produced. This results in the melanocytes turning off the production of the melanin. It can help with conditions such as freckles, liver spots and hyperpigmented areas.
Glycolic acid helps control acne or problem prone skin by clearing blocked pores and sloughing off the skins cells. It helps to control the abnormal build up of skin cells that may cause various skin conditions. Efficient sloughing of the skin cells also helps alleviate the effects and appearance of hyperpigmentation.
A series of 3-6 weekly peels is recommended to achieve a significant skin improvement.

Also known as Collagen Induction therapy, micro-needling is used for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of skin texture, tone and colour. During the procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. This also creates micro-channels allowing topical gels, creams and serums to be more effectively absorbed, enhancing their effects in deeper layers of the skin.
During this treatment, hyaluronic acid, which secures moisture and creates fullness is applied. As we age, skin moisture can drop significantly, which makes the skin lose elasticity and show signs of ageing. Hyaluronic acid plays a critical part in skin health with it's unique ability to hold in moisture (1000 ml of water per gram of hyaluronic acid).
After your treatment, da Vinci 21 will be applied to the skin. A numbing cream can be applied if requested to desensitize the skin before your treatment.
For home care, da Vinci 10 serum is recommended to increase micro-needling benefits.

LED LIGHT THERAPY
A treatment that has become recognised as one of the safest, quickest and most affordable treatments for achieving a more youthful complexion. Also known as photo rejuvenation, various colours of light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used to create an anti-aging effect on the skin. Exact wavelengths of emitted light stimulates and energizes cellular activity, creating collagen and elastin for anti-ageing benefits.
Four colours have been found to have a visible effect on the skin when research was carried out by NASA to see what effects the light had on skin and plants.
RED - shown to have a positive effect on minimising the signs of ageing making it ideal for mature, damaged skin but for all skin types too. It stimulates collagen production and it has also shown that it speeds up the skin's healing process which can be beneficial for helping to heal wounds and scars.
